EBA Structure

The European Blockchain Association is structured as a Decentralised Semi-Autonomous Organisation (DSAO).

Structure

The DSAO is a derivative of the original Decentralised Autonomous Organisation (DAO) that describes a type of network connecting individual nodes that act autonomously on the basis of self-created rules. A DAO’s financial transaction record and program rules are maintained on a blockchain and member activities are not influenced by a central government.

Key differentiators between the EBA and traditional DAO’s.

  • The EBA was founded by a legal entity – the European Blockchain Association e.V. – an association registered in Germany,
  • The DSAO is supported by a set of governance processes – headed by the EBA’s board. This facilitates the integration of the EBA into the society at large, by addressing social, legal, economic and environmental aspects and acting as a contact person.

With this structure of a decentralised semi-autonomous organisation DSAO, the European Blockchain Association combines the advantages of decentralised networks with the essential requirements of our society.
