Pushing boundaries on distributed networks and organizations – the mission of the Interchain Foundation (ICF) perfectly fits the idea behind the European Blockchain Association (EBA) and we are very happy to announce that the ICF has joined the EBA as a member. The ICF will join our communication channels and participate in our work aggregating and coordinating blockchain activities throughout Europe and providing Non-European parties access into the European blockchain ecosystem. A joint focus will be on working to make arguments for good regulation which protects the competitiveness of the European blockchain industry and helps to advance the innovations that DLT can bring to the European population.
The Swiss Interchain Foundation is funding and pushing the frontiers of blockchain-related infrastructure and participates in research, development, product, community, and social good initiatives. The EBA membership is part of the Q4/20 ICF grants.
Powering the Internet of Blockchains
The ICF is especially known for its support of the Cosmos Project, which is unique in its maturity, modularity, and the sovereignty it provides to respective networks. Cosmos, also referred to as “the Internet of Blockchain”, is an ecosystem of blockchains that can scale and interoperate with each other. Before Cosmos, blockchains were siloed and unable to communicate with each other. They were hard to build and could only handle a small amount of transactions per second. Cosmos solves these problems with a new technical vision and – along with other players in this field like Polkadot or Fusion – takes blockchain technology one step further.
“The Interchain Foundation is a perfect fit for the EBA and adds valuable insights and perspectives to our work at the EBA”, says EBA chairman Michael Gebert. “We are very much looking forward to working together on our joint vision of a scalable, secure, decentralized future!”
